Puffball Is Another Story

This is Puffball. She is proof that not all desert hamsters want to live alone like Bright Spot does.

Puffball looked adorable sleeping between two other desert hamsters in the pet shop. So we decided to take her home. We hoped maybe someday we could introduce her to Bright Spot and he would think she was so cute he would want to change his bachelor ways.

But Puffball was not happy all alone in her new home. She would not eat. She would not go in her pretty pink wheel. Most of the time she just sat and looked out. But sometimes she ran back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, frantically jumping up the side of the glass aquarium.

We didn't need the Pet Psychic to tell us what was wrong with Puffball. She missed her friends from the pet shop. So we knew we had to go back and buy another desert hamster.

Of course, we also knew if both of the desert hamsters that had been in the cage with Puffball were still there, we would have to buy both because we would not want to leave one alone in the pet shop ...

... so now three cute little desert hamsters are living happily together.

The minute we put Puffball's friends in with her, she transformed into a very happy hamster.

She ate. She drank water. She ran in her wheel. She wrestled with her friends.

Then she curled up into an adorable ball and fell asleep between her friends just like in the pet shop.
